ACPS Co-sponsors International Conference in Beijing, China, July 15-16, 2002
On July 15-16 ACPS successfully co-sponsored an international conference (Political Science and China in Transition?) in Beijing with People’s University of China (Renda) and Zhongshan University. More than 120 Chinese and overseas scholars participated in the two-day conference. This joint conference, which focused on political changes in China and China’s foreign relations, was the first of its kind held in China. Li Junru, Vice President of CCP’s Central Party School, gave a speech on the transformation of the CCP at the conference. We would like to express our appreciation to the people (e.g., Professors Song Xinning and Zhang Xiaojin) of School of International Affairs of the People’s University of China for the splendid organizing work they did for the conference. During the conference a few ACPS members also taught workshops to graduate students of the School of International Affairs at Renda on methodological issues in political science.
